A Rose to Bloom

To my goddaughter:

photo: Jairel

Delicate bud that I know so well,
My duty was to watch you grow
Such a young and precious thing
It’s time to spread those wings
Time to hear you sing your song of life.

Unfold those petals
The ones which are shaping
Making you the beauty that you are.

Fragrant and slowly blossoming
Gaily dancing in a banter of breezes
Placing smiles on faces
And pleasing others who
Gaze upon such a wondrous site.

By no means perfect (for nothing ever is)
But in my eyes you’re really quite unique
And to those who might just fall in love with you

You will stun them with
The charms that you’ll
Soon learn are yours
As you reach your element
Grow into the fullest of your bloom.

A Beauty to Adore

A poem written as an Anniversary gift for my ever beautiful and thoughtful wife.

Oh! How I love your beautiful face
That occupies a special place in my heart.
And your lips that’s always so fresh
Kissing it I consider a novel art.

Oh! I love how you walk
A sight to behold
Like a dancing diva on a swing
Each step contains a sting.

Oh! How I love your gentle voice
And listening to each thoughtful talk
That gives me a reason to rejoice
To face life’s hostile walk.

Love, just as I’ve promised from the start
I’ll always appreciate and adore
Your beauty in my heart
Today, tomorrow and forever.

What a Day Brings

photo: ME

Days teach me
To always dream
Though it may never come true
But that's the best way
To live life through

Days teach me
To dream so high
There's no harm in trying one
Never give up and always try
Never let go or say goodbye

Days teach me
That when there is darkness
For sure, dawn is the next
And when everything is so tiring
Definitely, there would be time to rest

Days teach me
To always care for a friend
Always be true and never pretend
Always love with no end
And the broken hearts try to mend

Days teach me
Never to feel the hate
Always be confident and never hesitate
Always believe in fate
Holding on to my faith

Days teach me
That lovers meet and stay together
And others are apart
So if you are one who have been left behind
Don't cry and suffer... just search for a new start

Days teach me
The past I must forget
And nothing needs my regret
To open my heart and forgive
Cause that will help me to survive and live

Days teach me
To always offer my helping hand
Always be a Good Samaritan
And never doubt in people when there is no proof
And always try to understand

Days teach me
Not to be shy
If I have done something wrong
But to admit it and be proud that I have learned
A lesson that will help me to be strong

Para sa Aking Ina

A simple yet a very heartfelt Mother's Day poetry piece

photo: Jazy

Ngayon nakatayo ako sa harapan mo Ma
Lubos na nagpapasalamat sa iyong mga nagawa
Tanging ngiti mo lamang ang aking nakikita
Alam kung nahihirapan ka na,
Ngunit mas pinili mong mag patuloy pa
Kaya hinahangaan kita, Mama.

Kahit lisanin mo man ang mundo?
Nandito ka pa rin
Sa puso ko na
Walang sawang
Nagbibigay ng lakas at tibay sa akin.

A Poor Man's Lighthouse

A simple definition of how to love your neighbor.

I'm a man who rather live alone
Simply content with life but not a recluse
But there are those who find refuge
In a stranger's nest and build a new home.

There are courageous men who love adventures
With bold decisions, they earn some fortunes
But let me dwell near a slum environment
And be a brother to the disheartened

Let me dwell in a house near a slum environment
Where I could mingle with their daily movements
To foster fellowship among the good and the bad
A similar identity once I had.

I would not stay in a haven and complain
But be with the miserable and give encouragement
Let me dwell in a house near a slum environment
And be a brother to the disheartened.

My abode is a lighthouse to the outcast
It gives radiance to their highway of life
The man with dreams to escape the past
But are now struggling with today's strife.

I wonder where they get those smiles of enchantment
Perhaps it's their way of thanking the Lord's blessings
Let me dwell in a house near a slum environment
And be a brother to the disheartened.

Therefore, I would not build a dividing wall
So I can see and run towards them if they fall
Let me dwell in a house near a slum environment
And be a brother to the disheartened.

Three Precious Things

A simple Valentine note for my lovely wife.

photo: Beauty and the Beast

My love...

I have no money
not even a bed of honey
I own no stars
Its just asking too far
I can't give you the sun
That would only make me a clown
I can't give you the air that we breath
Possessing it, only God knows the secret

Apple of my eye... just three precious things that I can give you

I may not be rich to give you things so nice
But i give my heart without thinking twice
I may not own the stars
But my love is more precious than diamond jars
I may not give you air to breath
But you can take mine away if it means my death

Sweetheart.. just three treasured things you can have

My pure heart
My genuine love
And the right to take away my breath

Start Over

A man must trust God to start a new beginning.

When you've trusted God and
walked His way
When you've felt His hand lead you
day by day
But your steps now take you
another way ...
Start over.

When you've made your plans and
they've gone awry
When you've tried your best and
there's no more try
When you've failed yourself and
you don't know why ...
Start over.

When you've told your friends
what you plan to do
When you've trusted them and they didn't
come through
And you're all alone and its up to you ...
start over.
