To Memories I Go

My son showed what’s in his heart after breaking up with his girl.

Just when I started to find a way
To carry you to eternity
Yet eternity seems so far
Perhaps we’re to close to our end.

Yet we’re near to the future
But it seems you’re breaking up
And every pieces of our memories
Is lost in the great abyss.

Will you ever find me?
If I’m tossed with those memories
Or maybe turn back and face
Our destiny.

    1. Been there and done that and survived. Time will heal the wound and he would find the right gal for him.

  4. Your son is a poet, Sir! And yes, when heartbreaks happen, it can often make one a good poet. I am sorry for your son's rough breakup. I hope he'll recover soon! :)

  6. Breaking up is always painful no matter how it is handled. The good thing about it is that pain will also come to pass.

  11. That's sad. I love the poem though.

I hope that your son's heart will stop hurting soon. Parting ways do hurt really really bad. But life goes on. It's a good thing that you're always there for him.

  13. Time heals all wounds, they say. Letting go of someone you hold dear is one heartbreaking moment. But the same way fire molds iron, heartbreaks, for all the pain they cause, can make a person stronger.

    Nice poem, Papaleng!

  19. I remember creating poems like these way back when my heart got broke.

Like it or not, no one is exempted from having his/her heart broken. Otherwise, we should always move on and move forward as there is always someone out there waiting for us.

  22. I've gotten my heart broken for a number of reasons and it's never easy. But it doesn't mean it's the end. It's actually the start of something new, since we end up being a better person after. I pray for him, God is very close to the brokenhearted. :')

  23. That's really sweet of your son to make a poem to express his emotions instead of writing hurtful messages to his ex-girlfriend. Sometimes we don't know how to deal with our emotions that we are overcome with it and we do things that we regret. At least you can say that your son is emotionally adept.

  24. Go for a healthy body and mind for the whole year. This is what I should do, too, next year. I need to focus on getting myself back in shape. Oh I wish a prosperous 2013 for all of us!
