Pangako!

I find the poem both happy and sad. Happy because of the expressed optimism in the poem that a person will still be remembered through his works by the ones he loves, and sad because a person doesn't live forever with his loved ones. It makes me want to see my Tatay right now who lives far from us.
ReplyDeleteThat's very heartfelt. Our bodies may fade but the memories won't, that's something that our loved ones can hold dear to their hearts and that's how we'll live. Through their love.

ReplyDeleteIt seems to me a poem for kids that as a parent we always love them no matter what that even if we will be gone, we are hoping that our kind words to them they would follow it in their journey.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the poem, Papaleng. It made me miss my daddy even more. Its been 24 years and the pain never stops.
ReplyDeleteYou are very poetic Kuya. This poem signifies both happiness and sadness for things that may or may not happen yet.
