In my drawer lies a music box
Given to me by someone I love
She appealed to take care of it all my life
And put inside all the memories we have.
Hidden there are all thoughts of success
And each frustration we surpassed
She told me… whenever I’m sad
Just look inside the box and laugh.
I promised no one will know its contents
Nor its secrets never to share
When loneliness reigns and think no one cares
Inside the music box… she’s there.
All the dreams and vows
I keep them forever there
She told me… when I miss her

I love the secrecy and eternal presence of memories on that third paragraph.

ReplyDeleteI feel emotion while reading this poem. You knew you find true love when that person brings the best and worst in you vice versa. And you both still chose to be together.
