This poem is the outcome of one sweet thought and a cool, gentle wind.
photo: Micah
O gentle wind, why are you
Again playing games on me?
Entering my ajar door timidly
Yet enticing me shrewdly with your warm embrace.
O you little sly, why are you
Putting my mind into a spell?
Bringing along a scent as a bait
You completely put my heart into a trance.
Am I to believe or to deny?
Lady Hakim, is your presence in the house?
I walk down the corridor in haste
At times stumbling, faltering with my steps.
This mesmerizing scent leads me into a dimly lit room
But my pursuit ends up on a sad truth
Woe on me, my lady eludes me
Sitting on a corner, I feel so alone.
I look and stare at the sky, like mirror it flashes your sweet face
No matter what, no matter where, you and I will stick it out together,
We’ll hold each others hands and even though storms come our way
I’ll still be here, holding all to the promises we made, holding on to your hand.
So love me… take me
Cling on to our promises, and take out from here,
For hopelessness engulfs my soul, whenever we’re apart
So don’t put to waste all dreams and vows we made.
It’s good to dream so much than to dream nothing
Because lately I’m dreaming of you
Then by the stroke of fate,
You come along and share dreams with me.
Fools call me a fool for dreaming so much,
But wise men call me wise to dream so much than to dream nothing.
