Both of Us Were Just Memories

What’s in a room? A place where vows are made but meant to be broken…

photo: Saya

I wish I don’t have any idea
About what happened here last night,
All the memories won’t vanish
It’s a curse that curve to seal
The lips of a liar.

From every words comes up with every letters
And ends up with every tears that fall on the ground
And made every grain of soil be furnish;
From laughs it made us strong,
From tears we broke it all.

I never knew that we wont last till forever
Coz’ forever is tomorrow and tomorrow will be yesterday
And all the regrets and sins wont go away;
It will stay here in this room
Full of tears and miseries.

I wish I don’t have any idea what happen here last night,
But what happen here is a curse that left us both …memories.!

  1. Some relationships are not meant to be so it doesn't last forever. I think it happens for a reason. Very expressive poem KUya.

  2. I guess even if it were just memories now, it still made you the person you are today. Nobody comes into our lives without a reason.

  3. Well, memories are great to remember - whether they're of happiness & joy or misery. Why? Because they're actually what we'll all have of our relationships eventually. So cherish every part of it.

  6. This is somewhat sad, in a sense. Well, at least in the manner that I was able to interpret it. Anyway, some relationships do fail despite having vows and all. Then again, the best of marriages work when two people work hard into keeping the love alive and in being true to each other.

  7. This is beautiful. It reminds us that not everything ends up in fairy tale endings, a little reality check can come in handy especially when things get rougher than usual. :)

  11. Hmmm... I think this is a forbidden affair. Well, it's reality and sometimes it's better to end this kind of relationship than drown each other with sin and pain.

  12. I think it's time for the both of you to move on. If there's too much pain and lies there's no more reason for the relationship to stay.

  13. My boyfriend used to say to me... "What's the use of fighting for someone that's not there anymore..." Letting go is hard, but it allows you to move on and be a better person. Loving your poem Papaleng :)

  18. Sometimes a curse turns out well at the end... Might end up as bad memories but you learn a lesson from it.

  20. Ahhh... I can sense so many brokenheartedness in this poem. Indeed, not all relationships are meant to last to forever. It is unfortunate for those who will fall a victim of one. :(

  21. this may sound sad but somehow there is that richness that makes the heart sing with joy for such a soulful thought. somehow i am glad for the gift of broken relationships i got, it made me very happy where i am now, which i know maybe the same for the two in this poem

  27. Nothing lasts forever especially if it's a relationship that's not meant to be. The thing of the past will always teach us a good lesson to become better persons today and prepare for tomorrow that is about to come.
