A young man was surprised to find out how big his cross is.

A young man in the threshold of losing hope
Dropped to his knees and pray
"My Lord, when will this burden end," he uttered,
"I've been carrying this heavy cross each day."
The Lord answers back,
"My weary son, if the cross' load is too heavy to bear,
Just put it inside the room that is unlock
And open the next door and pick any cross you yearn."
The young man filled with relief
Sighed, "Thank you, Lord," and quickly moves
As he looked around the room and marvels
Seeing thousands of crosses and was caught in disbelief.
Some so large it can fill the hall
His eyes spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.
He whispered, “Lord I saw a cross that is too small,
I guess, carrying it will not make me crawl.
But the good Lord butt in,
"My son, that's the cross you brought in."

ReplyDeleteSometimes we are don't realize how good our life is until we see the difficulties in others lives.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. This post is truly inspirational. We have to appreciate what we have and stop comparing ourselves to others. We are so blessed!
DeleteSometimes we think that our lives our hard until it hits us that there are others who have a much harder time. It is better to be thankful day in and day out.
ReplyDeletea touching and inspiring story. . .
ReplyDeleteWow. Thanks for the good read. Live life. It's too short to be boring. ;)

ReplyDeleteHahaha, such a whiner isn't he? I bet he learned the lesson pretty quick.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Thanks for an inspiration post and reminding us that God give us our own cross that He knows we can handle it and it helps us grow in every aspect in life.
ReplyDeletewe all have our cross to bear and we should not compare it with others because we don't know how big or small our burden is. we should trust that the Lord will not give us challenges that we can't overcome
ReplyDeleteAwww! Great poem! It just hit me home. I have been in the habit these days of complaining for my tiring days. I am just a plain homemaker, and yet I whine of being exhausted every afternoon. I am then reminded when my husband gets home. He is out working in the cold and yet, I never hear him utter a single whine about how tiring his day is. I am just like than man, at times.
ReplyDeleteGreat great post. Timely for me and for my current situation. To GOD be the glory!
ReplyDeleteHi papaleng,
ReplyDeleteI actually heard that story when I was a kid. Reading it in your blog makes me think about it :)
We are blessed as we are. WE have to cease yearning for more. All the groaning and whining won't unload us of any burden. Everyday is a blessing. Why don't we count it each day? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very touching poem, Papaleng. It's very thought provoking, too.
Nothing is impossible if we only believe in Him. :)
ReplyDeleteindeed. there was never a cross too heavy to carry. if people will only realize what was His promised on us, we will all be laughing in all the problems that beset us.
ReplyDeleteInspiring poem. Most often our desire to the the safest and easiest things and not wanting to take a risk is the cause of our hardships.
